• Ares 1000 and Ares 1500 arm bracket fatigue. The cast aluminum arm bracket on these mid-duty swing operators carries more cantilever load than the spec suggests, especially on gates over 16 feet. The Icaro FAST is a clean-looking underground operator, but the hinge pin sits in a galvanized sleeve that traps condensation against Mesa’s hard, alkaline soil. The pin rusts from the bottom up, and the gate starts to bind at 90 degrees open. We extract the pin, bore the sleeve if it’s salvageable, and weld a new 304 stainless pin with a grease zerk fitted - a modification BFT doesn’t offer from factory.
• Deimos BT sliding gate roller carriage weld failure. The Deimos BT is a workhorse, but the roller carriage on heavier gates can develop fatigue cracks where the vertical post meets the horizontal rail. This usually shows up as a rhythmic clunk every time the gate opens. We jack the gate, cut the cracked section, and TIG-weld a reinforced gusset plate with 1/4-inch steel - stronger than the original joint and field-proven on dozens of Mesa installs.
• BFT sliding gate track misalignment from post heave.
